Ways to Improve Your Garden

Garden

According to recent news , a well-maintained garden can increase your home’s value up to 20%. No matter the size, any outdoor space can be transformed into a relaxing, tidy and enjoyable space for everyone to make use of. And it doesn’t have to break the bank either.

In this blog, we’ll explain some simple ways to improve your garden that will encourage you to get out in the great outdoors.

Mow and prune

First things first, to make an impact on the overall look of your garden you need to make sure your lawn is in good condition. Perhaps the summer has dried it out or patchy areas are making it look uncared for. If you need to, purchase some grass seeds so the whole garden has an even layer of grass. Next, don’t let the grass get too overgrown - although it is a good idea to leave a small patch at the back of the garden for insects and wildlife. If you have shrubbery in your garden, pay them some attention by pruning them into a neater shape - his will give your garden a structured border.

Add seating

You can’t enjoy your garden without the right kind of seating. If you enjoy eating outside in the spring and summer, it’s worth investing in a good-quality dining set so you can enjoy your food alfresco style. For relaxation, why not add a swing chair or loungers? And if you'd like a dedicated seating area, have a snug built complete with chimenea, bar and cosy cushions.

Have fun

Just like any other area of your home, your garden should also reflect your personality. There are many ways that you can do this, whether you’re looking to create a fun and colourful space or a luxurious and adult feel. Choose flowers and plants that are your favourite and don’t be afraid of colour - when they come out in full bloom you’ll be glad you picked them! If you have a snug or cosy seating area, add fun signs or even a cocktail list that your guests can choose from when they visit, string fairy lights around the garden so it looks pretty at night and select colourful furniture that makes your garden look fun and modern.
